The Mindmap :
The Moodboard :
As mentioned in my mindmap and also moodboard, the word 'vision' can be a lot of things. It can be the ability to see, an experience of seeing someone or something in a dream, imagination, beautiful scene or person and even more. Some believe that vision can be defined as heavenly messenger appearing in our dreams to convey important message.
When I learned about the definitions of 'vision', I had several inspirations and ideas for the story. The stories can differ from all sorts of genres, from fantasy to mystery. However, I have not chosen a story yet and I have not finalized it.
Feedback
After consulting Mr.Martin, it is decided for me to go with the story line of a blind pianist striving for success. I was told to start developing the main character, whether the pianist is a girl or a guy, how their personality is and so on. I was also told to make more mood boards for that.
Week 2
Character development
With this story line, I can imagine the main character to be a girl with calm and composed personality, she rarely opens her eyes, mainly because there is no need to. She started playing piano not for fame, but just because she enjoys playing it. Although, there might be a time where she gets frustrated when she can't get the keys right, and even worse, she can't see musical sheet. People always gets frustrated and stressed out in life at least once.

- Plays piano for hobby, it can be one of the ways for her to feel better

Today, I was told to get my actress confirmed by next week (week 3), otherwise it will be very last minute and we should never do things last minute. Also, since the character of the protagonist has already been planned out, it is time to sort out the story line by next week. As for now, I have a story where the girl doesn't have vision, but she has the vision in her mind to be a great pianist. What is her inner vision, is what I need to find out.
Week 3
Getting actress confirmed
During this week, I have searched for a friend who is able to play piano as my actress. I have also taken some photos which is her full body photo, half body photo, and also the shots where her piano is in her living room.
She has told me the pieces that she is confident in, which is "A Lovely Mood" and "Love Theme" by Catherine Rollin. She also mentioned that she can learn " Simple Pleasure" by Catherine Rollin and "Clementi: Sonatina in C major, op.36 and no.1" if I want her to play it for the shooting.

Creating a Detailed Storyline ( Looking for reference, yet)
Before adding details into the story using 3-act-structure, I started doing research on possible reference I can find for blind pianist.
PANTENE: A Very Touching Deaf Violinist Commercial
The above was a commercial for hair products, but they used the story of a deaf violinist so I figured I could get reference from there. This violinist is able to see, but not able to hear. But strangely, when she was encountering a problem with playing violin, the old man in the video told her " Why do you have to be like other? Music is a visible thing, close your eyes, you will see. ".
Meet Nobuyuki Tsujii, the bling concert pianist who learns by ear
Nobuyuki Tsujii, is a pianist who is unable to see ever since he was born. However, he started playing piano at the age of 2. Despite having braille music sheet to use, he preferred to learn playing piano by ears instead of touch. This can be a good inspiration for my story line, as it shows how a pianist learn to play a piano even without the braille music sheet. Getting a braille music sheet might be tough and pricey, but I will do a research before deciding whether to use it or not for my video.
Possible Storyline
3-Act Structure :
1.blind pianist girl who loves to play music, she often practises her piano and she is confident in playing it.
2. Pressed wrong keys when she was performing due to nervousness and she suddenly got panicked, some ppl who are jealous of her starts making fun of her. She then gives up on playing piano as she believes that only people who are able to see have the RIGHT to play the piano.
3. Courage( she actually loves music more than she thinks, so it makes her feel empty if she doesn't play piano)> plays piano again... she starts to realize that she doesn't have to see to play music, as music is something that people can see even with their eyes closed. And she starts accepting the fact that people make mistakes and she is also one of the normal people.

I was told that the storyline I showed is very bad. I was suggested to watch a taiwanese movie called "Ni Guang Fei Xiang" so that I can get better inspiration for my storyline.
Week 5
I couldn't find a good website for me to download the Taiwanese movie so I decided to watch it online from this website Ni Guang Fei Xiang. Now, I tried to make some storylines for my film.
Blind pianist + Love story
A blind female pianist plays piano at her home, then a guy walked into her house and he is her boyfriend who she lives together with.
Apparently, the boyfriend is also a pianist ( a pianist who has his own debut) , sometimes they spend their time together to play piano together, chatting together and a lot of things. Little did the girl know that the boyfriend is actually taking an advantage of her, knowing that she is good at playing piano despite being blind. The boyfriend actually has another girlfriend whom she never knew about. Sometimes, the blind pianist could smell perfume when her boyfriend is around but she did not think that much about it.
One day, when the female pianist was composing a new song, it was actually recorded secretly by the boyfriend just so that he can use the song that she composed as his own thing. She realized the betrayal by her boyfriend when she was listening to his album (or radio). She was dumbfounded by the discovery of her music being played in her boyfriend’s album (or radio but with the bf’s credits). Even when she realized that her music was stolen by her boyfriend for his own sake, she even heard something more surprisingly from the radio, that he ‘wrote’ this song for his precious person, a lover but it was obvious that the person is not her. Feeling unbelievable, she stood quietly, remembering the signs of her boyfriend cheating on her, such as the perfume fragrance coming from her boyfriend, or the amount of times where her boyfriend’s phone rang (text message or so).
The blind pianist then started to feel awkward with the boyfriend, she feels distant. But when the boyfriend reaches home, he was drunk and the pianist immediately noticed the smell of the beer, that’s why she knows. As she was trying to help her boyfriend up, she patted his cheek and noticed that there is this sticky touch on her fingers, she tried touching it and even smelled it, and she realizes that it is a lipstick mark ( shape of the lip? ). The blind pianist then snaps, she tries to consult the boyfriend but she fails, as the boyfriend was being drunk and unreasonable. So, she just left him by himself, she starts packing her stuffs into a luggage... but when she was about to leave, she walked to the piano and played another song before she leaves the house. (She is heart broken and believe that this love has ended, but as her music started to lighten up, she yearns for a better love, a better life, a better music in the future. The blind pianist leaves the house to have an adventure of her own.)

1. Zootopia
- The characters in this movie are very unique, each of them has their own special characteristic and personality.
- The positive main character who was threatened and got pushed back in the past, yet she didn’t give up even when she faced even more challenges in (current time).
- The movie was illogical with all the advanced technology and the way that carnivore and herbivore animals living together.
- The random humors that audience find in the movie, for example, the sloths and such.
2. Koe No Katachi (A Silent Voice)
- The way they show front part and the ending part of the movie, front part of the movie showed how the main character(guy) was planning on committing suicide. The ending part of the movie was how the boy finally able to accept himself and accept other people, he started being able to see and hear other people.
- The realistic part of the deaf girl being bullied and alienated by her classmates, severely bullied by the young boy.
- Some humors in the movie, the movie ends up being a sad yet happy movie (with the happy ending too).
- Relaxing pace of showing things yet makes audience to be curious about what’s going to happen.
- The development of characters throughout the story.
3. Kimi no Na wa ( Your Name)
- The weird occurrence of gender changing in the dreams.
-Dadaism art movement.
- The mind blown theory behind the story, they can be confusing but the audience are convinced about how the story goes.
'The only thing that is worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.'
A blind pianist making meals ( for example, spaghetti), then she prepared the table nicely with decoration and nice meals, wines. She then waits for her lover to come back home, but while waiting, she went and play the piano to kill her boredom. Few moments later, when her lover comes back, she greeted him happily, but her face expression changed when she smelled perfume from him. -Flashbacks of the lover spending time with another woman- ( Then shows the scene where they eat together but the lover couldn't finish food, even though she couldn't see, she would notice it from the sound and the feel when she clean up). Another day passed, the blind pianist sits down at the piano and when she starts pressing down a few piano keys, her lover's phone then starts ringing ( may show the scene where the lover rushed to answer the phone while being cautious of being heard by the blind pianist). The blind pianist then starts playing the piano, things in the house has been changing slowly and slowly, most of the stuffs starts disappearing, showing signs of the lover leaving her.

NEW STORY
A boy who was bullied in the past due to his obesity, now that he is a thin boy who is addicted to potatoes, to the point where he eats potato chips/ meals for 3 meals a day. He never eats anything else other than potatoes-related food. He has a lover who he trusts despite not willing to interact with other people. They always spend time together, eating meals, chilling & enjoying sceneries, making small talk and such. One day, when someone tries to talk to him ( maybe he dropped wallet, or he wanted to ask for direction or so). The camera can show the way the boy avoided looking directly at the person and keeps looking at other places awkwardly[first person view]. Then, the scene then shows the boy’s lover who was sitting next to the boy waving at the stranger. But when the stranger looks at the spot next to the boy and he sees a potato, which makes him feel strange about it. Another day passed by, when he was eating with his lover, he started looking at people ( not at their face) to see what they have been doing normally, like eating rice and such. But when the lover ordered rice for him, he couldn’t eat it, he felt traumatized(from being bullied about being fat) and he couldn’t put rice into his mouth. (another incident about being alienated by his current classmates even though he tries to fit in)
When the boy is in kitchen trying to prepare his own potato meals, his lover stands beside him while talking to him, he silently nods, and few moments later when he looks to his side, he sees a potato and he took the potato to chop it. After chopping, he blinks and take the plate closer, but when he looks at the potato again, he sees a bloody thumb. His hands starts shaking with the knife is his hand. THE END.

Week 6
Coming up with way to show the story/ A more creative story which is easy to film
If I want to continue using the fat to thin part, maybe I can try:
The scene started from showing a room, and the laptop is on, cyberbullying happening on the Facebook, posting "fat" and stuffs. Then a boy hiding in a blanket ( don't have to show the boy, can put stuffs into the blanket to make him looks fat ), then can see the phone is on the bed as well, with all the message notifications (verbal abuse by a group of people in group chat, most probably classmates). And he grabbed potato chip from a potato chip package into his blanket ( just show his finger, try to avoid showing too much of his hand) - crunchy sound effect-. (Show how time passes) (End of ACT 1)
The boy then meets up with his imaginary friend or lover at school, they then spend times together and eat meals together, tho the boy only eats potato meals. Breakfast - potato , Lunch - potato , Dinner - potato. ( One day, when the girl eats with the main character at his house, his mother came and asked the main character if she can take a photo, just to keep this memory, she took the picture and another day goes by). Then, there is a point where even his lover started noticing and think that eating potato meals ONLY is not a good thing for him, so she tried to give him some 'proper' meal to eat, rice or meat... But he can't take it, he can't imagine putting the food into his mouth, he tried but he failed too, so he rejected her. He then sees that the girl was feeling disappointed or sad face when he rejected it, things got awkward...
The boy started having some self-awareness and he tries to eat proper meal at home.. for example, sandwich but he ended up rushing to toilet and starts to puke.
Theory behind the story - An obese boy slimmed down as he got made fun of in the past and therefore, he got obsessed with potato and always stick to potato meals even if the people around him eats proper meal. He even started having an imaginary lover/friend...

Conclusion
1.The boy eating all sorts of potatoes for every meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (eat potatoes ...french fries when watching movie )
2.The boy then meets up with her girlfriend and they spend time together, play around, go on dates. But even if they eat together, it is revealed that the boy eats nothing other than potato foods.
3.The boy is actually alone in the class, people also find him weird because he always talks to himself.
4.Then someday, (he bumped into someone or something happened that revealed that the girlfriend is actually a potato)
Ending=The boy cooks dinner, he took the potato next to him and chop chop chop.
Week 7
Filling the plot hole (up till the ending)
1. The boy who walks and talks with his girlfriend, accidentally bumps into a guy ( and maybe he has his own gang of friends, 2 more friends or so). The boy who is usually doesn't talk to people then somehow tries to avert eye contact or so.. Then the guy is not really forgiving about that and started acting rough with the boy and even cornering him and starts beating him. When the boy got punched and kicked around, he then started losing consciousness and his girlfriend came to him, but when he blinks his eye, he can see a potato instead of his girlfriend for a few moments, and blackout.
Then the next scene shows the boy in his own room/ kitchen [staring at potatoes]), thinking seriously about the potato that he saw before he lost his consciousness. Then, he gets impatient and frustrated and since it's almost dinner time, he decided to go and cook his dinner.
Ending: In the kitchen, while he was immersed in doing preparation for cooking, the girlfriend stood beside and whispered something to him. He turned quickly as if he thought his gf was there, he looked around him and sees no one, so he decided to continue doing his cooking but after a short while, he looks to his side and sees a potato, so he took the potato and chop chop chop chop.
Then the next scene shows the boy in his own room/ kitchen [staring at potatoes]), thinking seriously about the potato that he saw before he lost his consciousness. Then, he gets impatient and frustrated and since it's almost dinner time, he decided to go and cook his dinner.

Week 7
Act 1
(Roughly 10 shots) > The boy take the food, eat eat eat... open cabinets and inside is filled with bags of potato chips.
Act 2
The boy meeting up with the girlfriend and then they went to class together. In the class, the boy was having fun with the girl in the class. But, the classmates around him think that he is a weird person because he is talking to himself. Then they went to eat at a restaurant, the same thing happened... the people around him felt strange about how he is laughing or smiling into the space. After that, he walked with his girlfriend and when he turned into a corner, he accidentally bumped into a bulky guy, The bulky guy is clearly not happy about both the accident and how the boy acts, so he beat him up. Then when his girlfriend come to check his condition, he saw a potato when he blinks his eyes, before he passed out.
Act 3
The boy started thinking hard with a potato on the table, right in front of him. He couldn't understand why did he see a potato, and what is the potato. He then bit the potato and started acting emotional and breakdown... Next, he stared into his TV emotionally and when his girlfriend came back to him, there is a bite mark on the girlfriend and there are tears in her eyes. The boy then hugged her tight.
