Lectures

Lecture 1 (11/01/2018)

Properties of sound:
1. Pitch
2. Loudness
3. Timbre
4. Perceived Duration
5. Envelope
6. Spatialization

Vibration per second = frequency

The range of human's hearing is between 20Hz to 20kHz.

Lecture 4 (30/01/2018)

Transducer, which is also known as mic, has two types:
1. Dynamic
2. Condenser

A dynamic mic is:
1, Tough
2. Durable
3. Stage and Live use

A condenser mic is:
1. Very sensitive
2. Very fragile
3. Studio use

+48 volt is known as Phantom Power.

There are different types of microphone pick-up patterns:
1. omnidirectional
2. cardioid
3. hypercardioid
4. figure of eight

Cardioid and hypercardioid are the most common ones.
Some condenser mic has multiple pick-up patterns as well.
Take note that there are male and female microphones.

If you find 2 rings on the microphone plug-ins, it means that the microphone is stereo, got left and right.

The Proximity Effect
The distance of the mic can affect the output of the mic. The closer the distance to the mic, the louder the bass it is.

Sampling rate is the frequency of how many times you get the slives from the file. For example, 92 Hz is high already.

Usually, for recording, people would choose to record 48 bit rate and 44.1kHz for output.

In graphic, the bit=color
In sonic, the bit=loudness

The target audience is for children between 6-12 years old. You may use images and video from the internet or you can illustrate to make the content even more interesting. Below are the content that you need to include in the Website. You need to create a storyboard/site structure so that it is easier for you to plan the page and the flow of the Website. You may include sounds or use Adobe Animate to have a whole new experience of interactive Website. What to do in a fire (This will be the title of the Website) Introduction Fire drills are a big part of being safe in school: They prepare you for what you need to do in case of a fire.
